Consumer Law

Defective goods and services, right of withdrawal, distance sales and consumer court proceedings.

Consumer law protects the rights of individuals who purchase goods and services. It covers defective goods and services, warranties, the right of withdrawal, distance sales and unfair terms.

Protecting consumer rights also matters for businesses that operate fairly and honestly. Disputes in this field are usually technical and document-based, so the right legal support leads to a faster resolution.

Boybey Law & Consultancy supports clients in complaints about defective products and services, contract cancellations, consumer court cases and administrative complaint procedures. We work decisively to protect consumer rights and reach a fair outcome.

Frequently asked questions

I bought a defective product. What are my rights?

The consumer may choose to withdraw from the contract, obtain a price reduction, have the product repaired free of charge or replaced with a non-defective one. Compensation may also be claimed where the conditions are met.

How long is the withdrawal period for online purchases?

For distance contracts, the consumer may generally withdraw without giving reasons within fourteen days of receiving the goods. Certain goods and services are excluded from this right.

Should I apply to the consumer arbitration committee or to court?

Disputes below the monetary threshold set each year must go to the consumer arbitration committee. Disputes above it are heard by the consumer court, and mediation is a mandatory precondition before filing.
